New Artists At The Artist Studio Art Gallery

New artists at The Artist Studio

Kosana Marton takes her inspiration from nature; surroundings, colour, light and texture all play a part in helping her to create contemporary paintings using acrylic, mixed media and watercolour. Her subject matter varies dependent on her mood at the time, ranging from landscapes to abstract. She also enjoys figurative work.

I work in several different mediums including oil, acrylic and encaustic wax.All of my work is on staple free box canvas unless otherwise stated and does not require framing.I love to use acrylic and meted wax together to produce some beautiful effects. My work is varied from tranquil landscapes to vibrant abstracts.I have got several collections of paintings that are on-going---my monochrome collection of birch tree paintings , my Summer Day collection of bright , cheerful seascapes and my series of colourful abstract paintings in my "Manic" series have all been very popular over the past year.I am at my happiest when creating art,to see the painting develop before me is exciting each and every time!

Living near the south of England's coastline and close to the river Stour in Dorset has given me the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the land and sea of this area, many of my paintings are directly inspired by these views, concentrating on the colour, light and atmosphere, especially observing the intense colours at sunrise and sunset, translating my emotional response onto canvas, giving the viewer an insight into my unique interpretation of the landscape, and a sense of my own personal connection with the subject.
